Is Dubai airport closed? Hereâs what travelers must know after the Iran-U.S. escalation | – Times of India

Airlines rushed to cancel flights and reroute aircraft on Monday after multiple Middle Eastern countries temporarily closed their airspace in response to Iranâs missile strike on the U.S. military base at Al Udeid in Doha. The attack came after the U.S. launched strikes on key Iranian nuclear facilities on Sunday. While no casualties were reported from Iranâs retaliation, the growing conflict has added new strain to global air travel.

Is Dubai airport closed?

On Monday evening, Dubai Airports confirmed that full operations had resumed after a temporary suspension earlier in the day, following a wave of airspace closures across the Middle East.

The geopolitical fallout has already disrupted air traffic across the region.

“Dubai Airports is working closely with airlines to maintain scheduled operations, but delays or cancellations may still occur,” the Dubai Media Office told Gulf News, urging all passengers to check directly with their airlines for the latest updates.

Meanwhile, nearby countries including Bahrain and Kuwait also temporarily shut down their airspace before reopening it. Qatar, however, remains closed for now.

The regionâs skies â once packed with airliners en route between Europe, Asia, and beyond â are starting to look eerily empty. With much of the airspace from Iran and Iraq to the Mediterranean still restricted or avoided due to safety concerns, airlines like Air India have already suspended routes to and from North America and Europe.

So while Dubai is technically open, the ripple effects of the conflict are far from over â and the global aviation map is being redrawn in real-time.
